Newspaper reporter Jacob loses his job, forcing he and his wife to move. He finds an old audio recording of a blues singer from the 1960s in their basement and, captivated by the voice on the recording (despite warnings from the locals) begins an investigation into the singer's mysterious life and death. With this pursuit, an evil spirit begins terrorizing his wife, and ultimately their marriage.
